Final thoughts

Apply! Help make Cambridge more diverse!

Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

Interview Format

Two interviews for 30 mins, each with two interviewers. Around an hour apart.

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

Felt very welcome, staff were friendly and smiley. Was asked about DNA, enzymes (when in doubt - answer enzymes, it’s probably right!!!), caterpillars and elephants.

How did you prepare?

Watching the news to stay updated on current affairs. Mock interviews with teachers (they weren’t very similar but still helpful for building confidence).

Looking back, what advice would you give to your past self?

Please help us make Cambridge more diverse!
