Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

Interview Format

Test taken: Engineering Admissions Assessment (ENGAA)
Number of interviews: 2
Time between interviews: 3 hours
Length of interviews: 1 hour
Online interview: No

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

First interview - three or so more conceptually challenging questions, talked through my thinking.

Second interview - 20 question problem sheet was given an hour before the interview to be filled out, went over answers in the interview

How did you prepare for your interviews?

A mock interview from a teacher was very helpful. I also did some general maths and physics revision.

If you took a test, how did you prepare?

Past papers, a book of ENGAA-like questions from Amazon was great for churning through practice questions.

What advice would you give to future applicants?

Practice the format of the questions, and really focus on getting questions done as fast as possible.
