Final thoughts

Don't lie on your personal statement

Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

Interview Format

Test taken: Engineering Admissions Assessment (ENGAA)
Number of interviews: 1
Length of interviews: 20 minutes
Online interview: Yes

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

One past question from ENGAA which I answered and then explained how I did. Then a step-by-step question on forces and equilibriums, hard but definitely within A-level knowledge.

How did you prepare for your interviews?

Practice interviews with teachers, reading Engineering books (look at recommended reading list on Cambridge website) lots of past papers

If you took a test, how did you prepare?

Lots of past papers and did other past papers like the PAT with friends applying for those courses which helped with interview practice as well for a range of questions.

What advice would you give to future applicants?

Don't lie about knowledge on your personal statement as they will ask you questions on it in interview.
