Nothing to add!

Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

Interview Format

I arrived the night before my interview, spent the evening in the student common room speaking to the current students and other applicants. I then took a Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA) in the morning (1 hour), then 2x15 minute interviews one on one.

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

The first interview was more vocal - personal chats and some off the wall logic-style questions. Second interview required an hour of work answering questions, which were then looked over during the interview in a supervision-esque way.

The first interview asked questions that got me to use abstract probability. The second was pure and applied maths; drawing graphs and some electrical questions.

How did you prepare?

I had a few 'mock' interviews; some 'random' thinking practice and a practice interview with an engineering alumni who asked a few similar questions.

Looking back, what advice would you give to your past self?

Not that I can think of
