Final thoughts

Relax!

Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

We went over the pre-interview test. At first we looked at some of the questions I had done. Essentially, we confirmed that my answers were correct and why. For one of these questions (one of the rather easy ones) I was asked to solve it in a different way. We did each of these relatively quickly. We then looked at some of the questions I had attempted but not finished. We did this for 2 questions. I was given many hints until I got the answers. Eventually we solved them both. This took longer.

How did you prepare?

I prepared by looking at the college's specimen admissions assessments, and some STEP questions.

Looking back, what advice would you give to your past self?

I would advise myself to relax.
