Final thoughts

Don't overthink; don't be intimidated by other applicants.

Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

Interview Format

Test taken: MML admission exam
Number of interviews: 2
Time between interviews: 2/3 hours
Length of interviews: 30-40 minutes
Online interview: No

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

50% was a discussion about literature (both from personal statement and some reading that was given to me 30 mins before interview), 50% was speaking in the foreign language and a language/grammar test conducted in the foreign language

How did you prepare for your interviews?

Made sure I knew my stuff about everything in my personal statement — that was it really.

If you took a test, how did you prepare?

I did 1 past paper

What advice would you give to future applicants?

Don’t overthink if you think the interview isn’t going well — it probably means that you’re being pushed to your limits which is a good sign. Don’t allow yourself to be distracted/intimidated by other people at interview — they’re probably as nervous as you but might not be expressing it well.
