Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.
Interview in December. I waited in the
I arrived at Sidney and sat in a room. I was then asked to read a text given to me in Spanish about a recent news article. I was given 20 minutes or so to read it over and make any notes I wanted to, not knowing what I would need to do with the article.
I arrived at the interview with two Spanish teachers and sat down. They asked me some questions about the article in English then we just spoke about it for 5-10 minutes in Spanish - all very relaxed, no pressure felt really. Then we moved into English and we spoke about the things I had put on my personal statement and was asked what I thought about them etc. They asked me to do a comparison between an English book I had read and a Spanish one (completely off the cuff). That concluded that interview.
I then had an Italian interview. I was given an article before in English about family in Italy. We then just discussed family in Italian culture and my interest in the course - was more relaxed than the other and no knowledge of Italian was needed (I did
Reading some short stories if you can't read a whole book yet in the language - or reading it in English. Watching films. Went on a Villiers Park course which was so helpful.
Best thing to do is to just show your interest because they want people who will thrive on the course.
