Practice explaining ideas outloud
Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.
Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.
Test taken:
Number of interviews: 2
Skype interview: no
Time between interviews: 3 hours
Length of first interview: 20-25 minutes; Length of second interview; 20-25 minutes
Each interview had a mix of Physics, Chemistry and Maths questions, and they both started with a short question relating to something I'd written about in my personal statement. Most of my questions required me to write something down, and there was a sheet of paper and a pen on the table in front of me in each interview. For my first interview I was sat in an armchair which I found strange, but my second interview had me sat in a regular school-like chair. The interviewers were all friendly, and took turns asking questions while the other jotted things down. I wasn't asked any non-science questions such as why Cambridge? Overall the interviews where what I expected them to be like, the questions started easier and got progressively more difficult.
I made short notes on everything mentioned in the NSAA content specification. Then I did the specimen paper and the one past paper I had at the time. After this I used Oxford's Physics Aptitude Test (PAT), as there were many more past papers for this test, and the questions are very similar.
My preparation for the interview consisted of revising GCSE and A-level content, and
Explaining my ideas out loud was something new to me, so this was very valuable for me
