Advice in hindsight

Final thoughts

Think about your subject; talk about it to anyone (or yourself)!

Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

I had a question sheet for one interview, but not for the other. We talked about books I read and general biology/chemistry questions. The sheet was a reading about some old research and trying to interpret some of it - but it didn’t matter if you were wrong. We talked through it after just to see how you think!

What advice do you have for future applicants?

Looking back, what advice would you give to your past self?

Practise thinking around the subject and talking about it to anyone who’ll listen, or just yourself :) just so you get used to it and hopefully feel a bit more comfortable!
