Final thoughts

Looked through school biology notes. Get involved in conversation to show interest in subject.

Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

Number of interviews: 2

Skype interview: No

Length of interviews: about 25 minutes each

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

There was no theme for the interviews. Each time relatively unrelated questions were asked and I gave the hypothetical solution/answer to the problem. I also showed the way I thought for tutors to understand that my answer was not random. The atmosphere was relaxed and appropriate for normal conversation.

How did you prepare?

I prepared for the SATs using the practice papers from collegeboard.org

What advice do you have for future applicants?

Looking back, what advice would you give to your past self?

I prepared by looking through my school biology notes, which helped a bit. I would recommend applying to a specific college and choosing your academic opportunities wisely. Also, get involved in the conversation to show your interest in the subject.
