Advice in hindsight

Final thoughts

Don't set your heart on Oxbridge too much

Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

Interview Format

Test taken: TSA

Number of interviews: 2

Skype interview: No

Time between each interview: a couple of hours

Length of interview: 10 minutes

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

I was asked about why I applied to Oxford and why I chose chemistry. I was also given problem sheets to do and asked questions at the same time. All answers were written on paper

How did you prepare?

I did practice tests and read up on how to do well.

What advice do you have for future applicants?

Looking back, what advice would you give to your past self?

Don’t get your heart set on Oxbridge. The tutors themselves admit that it is hard to pick students so if you don't get in that doesn't mean you're not clever.
