Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

I was asked to talk about my portfolio and questions followed regarding what I had said - e.g. on the making of a piece, artists that influence my work - alongside questions specific to media choice.

How did you prepare?

What advice do you have for future applicants?

Looking back, what advice would you give to your past self?

I did a 'practice' interview where I talked through my portfolio and interests regarding my practice. I also read up on some current art-related topics and thought about my opinions of them. The most useful preparation was talking about my work so that someone who doesn't know the work can understand your ideas.
