Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

We went through problems until we reached one I could not do, and then went about solving that one with the tutor helping me. One interview involved presenting a problem I had been given the previous day. It was very scary but as I got into it I enjoyed it.

How did you prepare?

I prepared for the MAT using the past papers.

The single thing that helped greatly was having a practice interview with a teacher from another school, so I could feel more relaxed for the real thing.

What advice do you have for future applicants?

Looking back, what advice would you give to your past self?
